Terraria
Your Terraria server runs TShock, the most popular Terraria server: vanilla gameplay plus accounts, permissions, anti-cheat, regions and plugins. PC (Steam / GOG) players join it like any multiplayer server.
What it needs
| Memory | 1 GB for a small world, 2 GB for large worlds or 8+ players, more with plugins. |
| Port | Your server's port on Network (TCP). |
Choose the world (before the first start)
On Startup:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| World Name | The world file to load. If it doesn't exist, TShock creates it on first start. |
| World Size | 1 small, 2 medium, 3 large: only used when a new world is created. |
| Max Players | Players allowed at once. |
First start
- Start the server. Creating a new world takes a minute or two.
- When it's ready, TShock prints a setup code in the console, a line like "To setup the server, join the game and type /setup 1234567". Note the number. It's also saved in
tshock/setup-code.txt.
Join
- In Terraria choose Multiplayer → Join via IP.
- Pick your character, then enter the address
gameprod1.crashcrafts.comand your port from Network. - Enter the server password if you set one.
Claim the server (owner account)
In game, open chat (Enter) and type, in this order:
/setup 1234567
/user add YourName YourStrongPassword owner
/login YourName YourStrongPassword
/setup
/setup <code>gives you temporary super-admin./user add … ownercreates your permanent account in theownergroup./loginsigns you in to it./setupon its own turns setup mode off, so the code can't be used again.
From now on, sign in with /login YourName password after joining (or turn on auto-login by UUID in the config).
Upload your own world
- Stop the server.
- On your PC, worlds are in
Documents\My Games\Terraria\Worlds\(Windows). Copy the.wldfile. - Upload it next to the server's existing world with Files or SFTP.
- Set World Name on Startup to the file name without
.wld, then Start.
